Grace Recovered From Dengue Fever

My Grace was in the hospital right now, she's suffering from a dengue fever. Saturday night Grace and Grace went to the hospital for check up because she has a nosebleed... They were shocked when the doctor advised that Grace must be confined. So they went and call our other friends. We rush to get details and information, Grace blood platelet was down to 51. It was so alarming for us and then we contacted all of our friends to help us pray. Sunday morning grace mom arrived with her aunt.

We keep on posting through the net and ask for help to pray for her recovery. It was again a bad news when we received the messages on the phone that Grace again needs a six bag packs of blood platelets. We searched for donors and so glad, lots of friends were willing to donate their blogs just to save our friend. We visited grace, bought her fruits and assisted her mom from different stuffs to buy and to do. We are united in this time. We understood that some of our friends wasn't able to go for the reason of having a hectic schedules.

We kept on praying for Grace's recovery and we are so happy that it was fast her blood platelet were getting higher and she was about to discharge in the hospital. In behalf of our Gistwat group we would like to thanks for all of our friends who helped to assist Grace in the hospital and for the friends of our group who helped us pray for Grace fast recovery. Thank you very much May God reward you a hundred fold

The Frustrations of Back Pain And Neck Pain

My friend got an injury last Saturday. It was happened when he climbed at the guava tree and wants to reach the fruit and the entire branches have suddenly broken. We rushed him to the hospital and he tends to howl for the pain he felt. The doctor requires a citi-scan and x-ray for us to find out is there are any fractures in his spine and head. It so sad that the result needs to be cured as the doctor advised he badly need to wear a back braces. Thank God! His head was safe.

So I went out and find this Aspen Medical Products. It was two days ago when he was about to discharge in the hospital it was so funny because he kept on laughing at himself by wearing braces. This was a long week for us we just laughed when we think of the reason of the accident just because of a guava. The life was at stake. But then I realized that this was happen for a reason , life is too short to be wasted lets always be careful and regarding to my friend he was okay now, it wouldn’t be happen again!

BIBLE

What is Bible?

I've seen a movie led by Adam Sandler , my apology I forget the title of it but on the other hand I was amaze to the abbreviated definition of Bible. He said Bible is:

B - asic
I - nstruction
B - efore
L - iving
E - ternal

Nice isn't it?......

When I attended the baptismal ceremony of my 10th God son their pastor stated that ....

"We all have problems, problems were always there, whatever status in life do you have, you may poor, rich, teacher, lawyer, professor , are you a Mom, Dad, student single or in a relationship problems are with you... Even if it was solve expect again that there might you have new one. Even those great people in the Bible do have past and present problems, but they have overcame to it because they always have God and strengthen by God."

I remember when I am in college my professor gave us assignments and had a lot of pages in the book to read and when the final exam came half of the numbers in our class were failed in the same one reason , they haven't read the book. Just like the bible, we have to read it to study the answers were there... from the people in the bible who have different kinds of problems that might be ours in this moments has been solved by them... Ours too if we read on it on how they solved it.

Sepsis or Septicemia

What is Sepsis?

Sepsis or septicemia, is the presence of bacteria in the blood (bacteremia).

Septicemia is a serious, rapidly progressing, life threatening infection that can arise from infections through out the body, including infections in the lungs, abdomen, and urinary tract. It may precede or coincide with infections of the bones (osteomyelitis), central nervous system (meningitis) , or other tissues.

Septicemia can rapidly lead to septic shock and death. Septic shock occurs when an overwhelming infection leads to low blood pressure and low blood flow. Vital organs such as the brain , heart , kidneys and liver may not function properly or may fail. Decrease urine output from kidney failure may be symptom.

Septic shock occurs most often in the very young. It also occurs in people with underlying illnesses. Any bacterial organism can cause septic shock. Fungi and and ( rarely ) viruses may also cause this condition. Toxins released by the bacteria or fungus may cause direct tissue damage, and may lead to low blood pressure and poor organ function. These toxins also produce a vigorous inflammatory response from the body which contribute to septic shock.

Septicemia can begin with spiking fevers and chills, rapid breathing and heart rate, the outward appearance of being seriously ill (toxic) and feeling of impending doom. These symptoms rapidly progress to shock with decrease body temperature (hypothermia), falling blood pressure, confusion or other changes in mental status, and blood-clotting abnormalities evidenced by hemorrhagic lesions in the skin (petechiae and ecchymosis).

Treatment

The patient should be immiediately brought to tertiary hospital and be admitted to an intensive care unit. Intravenous (IV) fluids should be given to maintain the blood pressure. Strong IV drugs called sympathomimethics are often needed to maintain the blood pressure . Oxygen therapy is begun to maintain oxygen saturation.

The infection is treated with broad spectrum antibiotics (those that are effective against a wide range of organisms ) before the organism is identified. Once culture have identified the specific organism , antibiotics for that organism are begun. Plasma may be needed to be infused for correction of clotting abnormalities.

Expectations

Septic shock has a high deth rate, exceeding 50%. The infecting organism and immediacy of hospitalization will determine the outcome. Septicemia is not common but is devastating and early recognition may prevent progression to shock.

Any person with fever, shaking chills and who looks acutely ill should be seen immediately as an emergency.

Any person with evidence of bleeding into his skin should be seen immediately as an emergency.

Any person who has been ill and has any changes in mental status should be seen immediately as an emergency.

Prevention

Appropriate treatment of localized infections can prevent septicemia Children who have have spleen removed or who have diseases that damage the spleen (such as sickle cell anemia) should receive pneumococcal vaccine is not part of the routine child hood immunization schedule .

Close contacts (parents, siblings, friends) of septic children with certain organisms such as pneumoccoccus, meningococcus, and Hemophilus may require preventive antibiotic therapy.

This will be prescribed by a doctor and the type of antibiotic will be determined by the organism involved.
